Week 2

June 2-8

This week I managed to find a few more studios in the neighbourhood.

I also went to a studio launch party and got to see some cool new cartoons.

 

And tonight I went to see a movie at none other than The Chinese Theatre!

Universal Studios

June 1

 

Today we went out to Universal Studios, which is pretty close to where we're staying. We experienced most of the attractions today with plans to return.

 

 

There was also a small cinematic museum, with costumes and props from a lot of cool productions, like the upcoming Boxtrolls...

 

...the Battlestar Galacticas (and Jurassic Parks)...

 

...and my personal favourite...

 

 

...the Deloreon from Back the Future.

 



Burbank!

May 31

 

Today I went on an solo outting. I walked up to and around Burbank, seeing:

The Warner Brothers Studios...
 

 

...NBC Studios...

 

 

...Disney Studios...

 

 

...Nickelodeon Studios...

 

 

...and Bob's Big Boy.

 

 

Both my camera and phone were depleted by the end of the day, but I finished off by attending this storyboarding talk at the Victory Theatre Centre.

 

 

First Week!

May 27-29

 

I've started the first week of my internship! I'm helping out on a couple of cool projects.

 

 

Today I visited the Chinese Theatre...

 

 

...and saw some cool costumes, like Dorothy's dress...

 

 

...and the Terminator's jacket.

 

And, I spotted my first stars.

 

 

 

 



Observatory Hike

May 26

 

Today we went out on an urban hike, and saw lots of cool California architecture/plants.

 

 

 

It soon became a nature hike.
 

 

 

We ended up at the Griffith Observatory, which was closed.

 

 

And ended up hiking back the urban way.

 

 

 

 

 



Exploration

May 25

 

Today we went out to Venice Beach.

 

 

Had a nice oceanview lunch with live music.

 

Then went to the Santa Monica Pier.

 

...and the Promenade.
